Hey folks. If you are in TO on June 5th and looking for a great way to spend an afternoon, you should check out the WWSF Shorts for Shorties screening. The folks that curate the festival are amazing. They put together a killer roster of fresh shorts every year. It's a real blast. I am honoured that they are screening a never before seen episode of Yam Roll!!! So go check it out!! I'll be there for a Q and A afterwards, as well as hosting a workshop for kids afterwards (nothing better!!) If you show up - please come and say hi :)
I was throwing together some promo images for the show I am currently working on. I couldn't resist putting my little guy into the mix! I think the dood is gonna kick some butt:)
This is why I make cartoons. To have fun, and make my son smile!
Sitka Surfboard is a hot surfboard/clothing design company based out of Victoria, B.C. The nice folks over there have added me to their roster of listed artists that have created design for them. It's an honour as I am in great company. A couple other artists I am posted with are Andy Dixon and Ben Frey. I'll upload new designs as they get posted on the Sitka site
Check out the link to my profile here. Thanks Sitka!
So here is the video I mentioned a few posts ago. It looks like it has had the poop compressed out of it for uploading, but you'll get the idea. We had a great time making it - kept it loose. Hope you like it!! (I am hoping a better version will be uploaded)
Not so much a pie chart as a pie plate...but I think I am on to something. These beauties were made for me by the talented Laura McKibbon...solid gold!!
I thought I would post up a still from a short I just completed with Josh Hart, for the CBC show DNTO. It was a ton of fun. They will be posting it on their youtube channel sometime in early fall. I'll link to it when it is up! It is a nasty loose design style and some hilarious animation (thanks Josho).
A few dropped colours and the bad boy is done! If you see this, haven't received it, and are in the Suds...feel free to stop by!! (Is three years old too young to start him as a clean up artist? Working with my stuff, there isn't a lot to clean, so I wouldn't stress the little guy that much...)
