First collaboration with my son Isaac - Dog talking to a Giraffe

People have always said I kind of draw like a two year old. FINALLY I can prove the wrong!!! I draw like a 17 month old :)
In all honesty I think this is some of the sweetest work I have seen in a long time. I'm currently looking for a venue to house our first show :)

Pieces

I was invted to participate in the creation of a comic book that is being put together like an "equisite corpse"...anijam style. Artists/illustrators/comic book folks work from the last panel completed...pushing and pulling the story and style in any way they choose. Fun stuff, and there is some killer art work already done in the first 23 pages of the book. here is my panel...you can check out the story so far at the following link

We took Isaac to a petting zoo on the weekend. He fed a goat clover. It was the best! Here is a baby bird.

great guys, great project

Daniel Arendt and Christian Lindemann (they are working and living in Hannover/Germany) invited Graphicdesigners, Illustrators and Streetartists from all around the world to draw, doodle or paint a bird character. I was lucky enough to be one of them.

With these birds Daniel and Christian designed a DIN A1 poster which is available fom the 3rd of August 2007 in the websiteshop. A big part of the profit from the postersale will be going to UNICEF for their work against children labour in india. The poster is showing a selection of the submitted bird artworks and is killer gorgeous. All 200 birds can be seen in the websitegallery.

Go figure!!

I'm pretty hyped. After a hilarious screening /Q and A/ kids workshops at the Sprockets (Toronto Children's Film Festival), my micro mini shorts have been requested to be screened at the Mill Valley Film Festival, as well as a screener has been requested for the New York International Children's film Festival. I have my fingers crossed that we get in there...it would be a ton of fun watching them in the big apple. It was so ridiculous watching them with a couple hundred kids and parents...it would be great watching it with an even bigger crew of crazy kids :)
(I'll post links as soon as I get to a PC....uhhhh... I am MAC illiterate, and dunno how to activate links right now)

Mr Bunny

Here is a sneak peek at a scene from the new promo I am working on for March. Should be killer cute when it's done. Stay tuned and I'll post some more soon

A lucky bird

The Ratty Beaver

Just found this one floating in my computer. It's the beaver that was handing out Get Out of Jail Free pamphlets at my last art show in Vancouver. I think he might have been asking this yound man for ID. If I recall correctly that show attracted mostly a 4 year old crowd. Not big buyers, but man did they eat a lot of pretzels!

stamp collectors

I just finished these for a group show in Portland at the Grass Hut Corp curated by none other than Scrappers Morrison. The drawings are about 5 inches wide. Pretty small drawings. I'm looking forward to see the other artists work!...I'll try and post more details when I get 'em.

One of the best drawings I have done lately

I sent this to the animation director at my studio. In case you cannot tell from my master penmanship, there is a brick tied to my shoe, and I am kicking James in the nards. Cool

They are screening a 3 minute short titled Win Place or Toe. There is some funny stuff in there. Here is a link to the short

Win Place or Toe!!

These are some new t's I printed with my buddy skanes. As you can see from the pic...I am stoked about getting them done. I'll keep posting up new samples. needed something for over the sofa

I found this frame at Value Village. I was originally going to use the print that was in it, as part of the art. I tried to clean it up a bit and accidentally rubbed the print right off...sooooooo I painted the bg also. It's about 6 feet long and now sits above the sofa. I think it finally makes our living room feel normal.

Starting this bad boy up

Hey folks

The past couple years have been nuts. That means I got super lazy and never updated my site. I am hoping that this blog makes it a bit easier to dump up the occasional drawing/info/fun stuff that I am up to. Keep checking back and I promise I'll try and keep posting!!

If you want to make sure you get a daily dose of izen (a scary thought), be sure to sign up for my drawing of the day at www.ilaugh.com/dailyscrawls
